MPSoC design
The imec MPSoC technology offers solutions for design-time mapping of applications on MPSoC platforms.
The first multi-core platforms have found their way into embedded systems for entertainment and communication, especially thanks to their greater computational power, flexibility, and energy efficiency. However, mapping applications onto these systems remains a challenge that is costly, slow, and prone to errors.
As a solution, imec has developed tools to automatically transform sequential C programs into parallel C programs. These considerably speed up design-space exploration, leading to shorter time-to-market and more energy-efficient multi-core systems. The tools have proven their potential in commercial multi-media and wireless systems.
